The Ocean is Your Buffet in Killer Whale Beach Attack 3D
Although the ocean is filled with many wonders, danger also lurks beneath the surface. Not only can you get swept away by strong currents, there are also a number of creatures who wouldn't be so happy to see you. Among the spiny, slimy and downright creepy inhabitants of the ocean, predators are surely the stuff of nightmares. That being said, if you're intending to sit back and relax to a game, why not be the hunter and not the hunted? Tapinator's Killer Whale Beach Attack 3D lets you experience the life of a killer whale. Hunt for food and fend off other predators to keep your territory safe.
Be the Predator, Not the Prey
Of course, nothing can put a damper on your hunting spree as much as bad controls. In that area, Killer Whale Beach Attack 3D is a mixed bag. What's good about it is that the controls are simple and easy to learn. Thing is, it's not smoothly executed. You are given a virtual joystick to move your toothy predator around. Dragging your finger towards a direction will make the killer whale head towards it. Responding to the controls is not a problem. The problem lies in the swimming speed. Without looking at the joystick, your finger may unintentionally go past its border in the hopes of making the killer whale swim faster. Now, we're not talking about making it as speedy as a race car, but perhaps making it a bit more nimble would make things feel a more organic.
Aside from steering your predator, you get to tell it which hapless victim to eat. Pressing the attack button lets it chomp on nearby prey. You don't even have to be facing the exact direction. So long as you're within range, it'll either be filling its belly or destroying something. Want to skip the skinny human? Press the attack button on a boat and watch the oil bleed. If your bites are missing the mark, it might be an issue of depth. Fear not, that's easily solved with the tap of a button.

In Your Radar
While swimming endlessly in the vast ocean may sound like fun at first, you may find yourself bored with the lack of surprises in Killer Whale Beach Attack 3D. You'll be seeing palette swaps of vacationing humans, sharks, invulnerable sea horses and little else. Thankfully, there are a number of objectives just waiting to be accomplished.
In total, there are 18 objectives divided into 4 variations. Two of them involve filling your killer whale's belly with either squishy humans or schools of fish. Another entails sinking boats and ships -- quite fun if you're the type to enjoy terrorizing virtual vacation goers. And, last but not the least, you will also be asked to fight fearsome sharks to lay claim to your underwater territory. A life bar appears whenever you meet something hostile. Drain it and your killer whale will do a belly flop -- that means a game over.
Never Mind Realism
Perfect for casual gamers on the go, killer Whale Beach Attack 3D requires no huge time investment to finish. A stage may take you anywhere from 3 to 30 minutes depending on how much time you wish to spend just swimming around. Save for the last stage where you will need to go all Kill Bill on a bunch of sharks, almost all of them are simple too. The controls won't stump you so long as you're willing to forgive the predator's leisurely speed. On the other hand, the wonky calibration is anything but immersive, There will be times when your finger will jump out of the virtual boundary and that's certainly no fun when there are six sharks at your tail. Also, there is something buggy about the last level's difficulty. You can, and likely will, breeze through most of the game. Without a means to refill your health, the game becomes near impossible to finish when it's time to face off against those sharks.
